SwapBee vs FixedFloat: What Each Privacy Policy Says

Two privacy policies read side by side and quoted exactly, plus the data any swap can expose.

What data do SwapBee and FixedFloat collect?

SwapBee's privacy policy (effective 12 December 2025) says it collects the wallet addresses you enter, your Swap ID and swap details, your IP address, browser and device data, cookies, and your email "when contacting support or interacting with us". FixedFloat's policy (last updated 9 October 2025) lists your email if you give it, plus cookies, tags, pixels and log files that include your IP address, and it uses Google Analytics and advertising cookies. Neither policy states a fixed number of days for keeping data.

FixedFloat is one of SwapBee's 22 providers (as of 26 October 2026), so a swap through SwapBee can involve both policies. SwapBee publishes this comparison. We checked both policies on 9 October 2026; we quote them with their section names and give no legal opinion.

What does SwapBee's privacy policy say it collects, and why?

SwapBee's policy groups data in three parts:

  • 2.1 Information You Provide: your email "when contacting support or interacting with us", anything you send through forms, and "Wallet addresses provided to execute a swap request."
  • 2.2 Information Collected Automatically: IP address; browser details ("user-agent, version, preferred language"); device and operating system; access time and usage logs; cookies and session identifiers.
  • 2.3 Swap-Related Information: the Swap ID, the pair, the chosen provider, the deposit address, the destination address (from you), timestamps and the swap's status.

Section 3 lists the uses: routing swaps to providers, showing prices, tracking status, security and fraud prevention, support, "Sending essential operational updates", legal compliance and "Handling disputes related to swap operations." Section 5, Data Sharing, opens: "SwapBee does not sell personal information." It says limited technical data "may be shared with third-party swap providers strictly to process your transaction", and allows sharing for analytics (aggregated or anonymized data), legal obligations and business transfers, adding: "We never share more data than necessary for the purpose."

Our terms add that SwapBee may collect "IP address, device, browser, language, and network data" and share relevant information with providers and authorities "where required by law". Our AML policy adds that SwapBee's checks may include "Blockchain analytics and transaction risk scoring tools", and that its records may include "Technical access logs" and "Transaction metadata".

What does FixedFloat's privacy policy say?

FixedFloat's policy has seven numbered sections:

  • Section 3, Personal Data We Collect: your email address, if you give it "to receive relevant notifications", and, automatically, "Cookies, Tags and Pixels and Log Files". Section 1 defines Log Files to include "your IP address, browser type, Internet service provider, referring/exit pages, and date/time stamps".
  • Section 4, Processing of Personal Data: the legal basis is your consent or law, "including any relevant laws and regulations on counteracting money-laundering and terrorism financing". The purposes are exchange status, supporting documents, "marketing purposes" and improving the service. Processing can include disclosure "either among our affiliates or other authorised third parties". The section also says: "FixedFloat does not collect any sensitive Personal Data about you (i.e. gender, racial origin, financial position)."
  • Section 5, Cookies: FixedFloat uses Google Analytics, Google's remarketing features and AdWords conversion tracking, and "cookies from third-party partners, such as Google and Facebook, for marketing purposes". It says: "FixedFloat.com uses Google Analytics to process data about your behavior, age, gender, interests, to show you targeted ads and other content that has been customized for you." The section links opt-outs for Google Analytics and Google ads.

FixedFloat's terms of service (last updated 2 October 2026), in Section 8, Personal Data, allow it to export your data "outside of the jurisdiction in which you reside or are located" and to pass some data, "including IP-addresses", to business partners or government bodies at their request.

What data can a swap expose?

Some data can leave your hands whatever a policy says:

  • The blockchain. Ledger Academy says "on-chain activity remains public by design on most networks"; visibility depends on the network. On most networks, the deposit and the payout are public transactions.
  • The provider. The provider that runs your swap gets your destination address. Most swaps send your deposit straight to the provider; on-chain DEX swaps use a one-time swap address SwapBee operates. Before you confirm, each quote's provider policy shows who holds your deposit. On SwapBee, the order screen names the provider and links its rules and privacy policy, so that policy applies to the swap itself.
  • Extra data some providers request. SwapBee's provider list has a field for the user data each provider requests. On 9 October 2026 it was empty for FixedFloat and 17 other providers; it listed "ip" for ChangeNOW and SideShift, and "ip" and "user_agent" for SimpleSwap.
  • Checks. FixedFloat's terms (Section 7, AML Procedure) say you need not register to exchange, but an order may be suspended to ask where the funds came from when they are "clearly related to criminal activity". Its terms (4.11.2) add that for orders created through a partner service, "In case of suspected fraud, verification and decision-making are carried out by the Partner." SwapBee's AML policy says it may ask for limited information when "Requested by a Partner for compliance purposes."

How should I read a swap service's privacy policy?

  1. Check the date and the scope. SwapBee's policy covers only its website and services; FixedFloat's defines its service as the pages under fixedfloat.com.
  2. Look for advertising cookies and third-party trackers.
  3. Find who data may be shared with, and whether it is sold.
  4. Look for a retention period. Neither of these policies states a fixed number of days. Read the purposes and conditions that govern retention.
  5. Read the personal-data section of the terms, which can add to the policy.
  6. Open the provider's policy before you confirm a swap.
